The Mississauga Children’s Choir would like to thank the Central Library and Daria Sharanewych for the opportunity to perform this past weekend. In the words of Jim Henson, “Music is an essential part of everything we do. Like puppetry, music has an abstract quality which speaks to a worldwide audience in a wonderful way that nourishes the soul.” I can’t think of a more appropriate venue for a Children’s Choir than a public Library. Thanks again and we hope to see you next year. Auditions for the Mississauga Children’s are continuing; if you are interested please see the information below.

• The Mississauga Children’s Choir has won 1st place in the 2010 National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs – Children’s Category. Many choirs submitted entries and showed heartfelt commitment to singing, the pursuit of excellence and capable leadership. Winners were announced at the 2010 biennial conference of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities held in Saskatoon Victoria Day weekend. The following morning on CBC Radio 2’s Choral Concert with host Peter Togni, music of the winners were featured. “This is fantastic achievement, one that brings recognition to the choir as a whole, says Artistic Director, Thomas Bell. “ I have every confidence that this success will be built on and developed by successive generations of MCC choristers!”
