Saturday Mar 27: Bach Children's Choir Festival - Intermediate Choir
The Bach Children’s Choir is hosting a choral festival in Toronto (Beaches area) with Jean Ashworth Bartle as guest clinician. Mrs Bartle was the Musical Director of the Toronto
Children's Chorus and has also conducted all over the world. Our Intermediate Choir will be
attending with approximately 10 choirs from all over Ontario. There will be workshops, mass
rehearsal and a concert in the evening at which the choirs will sing individually and jointly – an
exciting day! The choir has booked bus transportation and a snack and pizza supper will be
provided for the children.
• Saturday Apr 17: Boy's Choir Festival
The Oakville Children’s Choir is hosting a boys’ choral festival. Over 125 boys from
Mississauga, Halton Hills, London and Oakville will come together to work with guest clinician
Matthew Larkin in some very exciting workshops. A concert in the evening will feature each
choir singing individually, together and with international lyric baritone Russell Braun. Parents
are being asked to transport their boys to and from Oakville and provide a bagged lunch. Snacks
and pizza dinner will be provided.
• Sunday Apr 25: Peel Music Festival
This festival is a competition like the Kiwanis Music Festival held in Toronto. MCC performs two pieces and listen to other choirs in their
respective category. At the end of the festival, the adjudicator gives them a positive critique of their
performance and awards are presented.
