Day One Friday June 29
noon - After a wonderful flight on WestJet we were met by Festival Organizers at the airport. We are now at Simon Fraser University, settling in. Following lunch we have rehearsal for opening ceremonies.

9:30pm The choristers have had a very eventful day. Our first massed rehearsal was a tremendous success under the direction of Bob Chilcott and Christian Grases. The choristers entered Convocation Mall proudly behind the Ontario flag. We were entertained by the NOVEL VOZ from Cuba, Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble and our host choir, Coastal Sound Music Academy. The highlight was the performance of the two massed pieces from earlier in the day. Its lights out and all is quiet on the floor.
Day 2 Saturday June 30

The day started off with workshops with the treble choirs in the morning. Afternoon we had our own rehearsal followed by a SATB workshop with the guest clinicians. A quick dinner in the bus on route to our solo performance at Maple Ridge.

We're the talk of the town! The MCC out did itself at our evening concert. Tom and Celene agree - they could not have asked for more! We are all very proud of how hard the choristers have been working and it all came together for them tonight in an outstanding performance.
DAY 3 Break Out Day
Dear Family: Today we got to sleep in. We ate breakfast and hopped on the bus to Granville Island where we shopped! Liam bought a monkey, Emily bought a chef and Emma is bringing home a bear. Many of the choristers had fun on the see-saw. From there we went to the world famous Capilano Bridge and lived to tell the tale. We then traveled to the Aquarium where turtles, dolphins, jelly fish and belugas were everywhere. Several sea animals will be joining us on the plane trip home. We filled our bellies at the spagetti factory and then had a lovely walk at Queen Elizabeth Park. We have many pictures. Happy Canada Day. With love from all of your kids.

DAY 4
Dear Family:
We had a very busy day of rehearsals. It was tiring but fun. We had 3 different clinicians. Next was relaxing on the terrace with beautiful view of the mountains. After dinner, we started off playing a small game "Ride the Pony" and we were joined by multiple choirs which embodies the whole purpose of this festival. In the evening a wonderful concert by 3 other choirs was enjoyed by all. Love your kids!

DAY 5
Dear Family
Today was quite the good day! After a busy morning rehearsing, we had a great concert at Port Moody City Hall. It was our final performance together. We went back to campus for a 2 hour rehearsal, but instead got the afternoon off after only a 30 minute rehearsal. In our new found free time we did some swimming, shopping and lounging around. In the evening, we watched three choirs perform, one from Denmark, one from Australia and one from Cuba. We shared the bus ride home with part of the Australian choir. We found many songs in common and sang them together. Definitely a high energy night and an awesome day all round! Love your kids.
